What does 'CLM Handbook' mean?

CLM Handbook

The Council of Mortgage Lenders (CLM) issue a handbook to all solicitors. This explains, for each bank or lender, what they would like to know about a property before they are prepared to secure a mortgage on it. Each lender has a different set of requirements so the work a solicitor needs to do in a property purchase can vary depending on the mortgage provider the buyer is using. Requirements of an individual lender can also vary depending on the Loan to Value of the mortgage is.
