How can I find out about crime in the area?

Answer

There are a number of websites that list crime statistics by postcode. You can find these on the Property Resources page.

But remember stats are just stats, they don't guarantee anything and no area is truly safe.

My first property was ex-local authority on a very run down and litter strewn estate with high crime figures. I spent 4 years there and it was probably one of the safest places I ever lived!

To find out more about the real checks you can make about when purchasing a property pick up a copy of my ebook How to Really Buy a Property.
